Call for Abstracts
The second biennial Victorian Autism Conference will be held on August 9th and 10th 2012 at The Sebel Albert Park, Melbourne. It will also be streamed live to nine venues in regional Victoria. This two day event is targeted at professionals, families and individuals with an interest in autism spectrum disorders and will cover a number of topics right across the lifespan. The theme for VAC 2012 is Knowledge, understanding and awareness across the spectrum.
We are delighted to announce our keynote speakers, world renowned ASD experts Tony Attwood and Carol Gray, and educator Sue Larkey. We are also very pleased to introduce Jonathan Petty, an individual with ASD from New Zealand, who will speak about his experiences of living with ASD. We will also hear from his family about some of the joys and challenges of bringing up a child with autism, and the impacts it can have on the family.
Following the success of last year’s model, the 2012 Victorian Autism Conference aims to provide practical strategies and information on Autism Spectrum Disorders to enhance the quality of life of families and individuals affected by ASD. Again, presentations will be divided into four streams covering the life stages of early childhood, primary school years, adolescence and adulthood.
We are calling for abstracts of presentations which provide practical strategies and information across six broad categories:

The Call for Abstracts closes on Wednesday 30th November 2011. Shortlisted candidates may be interviewed by the Victorian Autism Conference committee during January 2012. Candidates will be notified of the outcome of their submission on 2nd February 2012.
